Therapeutic Approach
My work is grounded in the belief that people are the experts of their own lives and have an inherent capacity for growth, healing, and change. I am deeply inspired by the work of Carl Rogers and the principles of person-centred therapy, particularly the importance of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard within the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that meaningful change occurs within a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where individuals feel genuinely heard and understood. My role is not to direct or diagnose experience, but to walk alongside clients as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges at their own pace.
Therapy is shaped by each client’s unique lived experience, values, and goals. I work in a way that honours autonomy, encourages self-trust, and supports clients to reconnect with their own strengths and inner resources, allowing growth to emerge naturally rather than being forced.
Vision & Values
Aligned Roots Counselling Services is grounded in ethical, person-centred, and culturally responsive care. My aim is to create a supportive therapeutic space where individuals feel respected, understood, and empowered to engage in meaningful work.
I integrate evidence-based approaches with sensitivity to cultural, social, and individual contexts. I recognise that mental health is shaped by identity, family systems, and broader social influences, and I work collaboratively to ensure care is respectful and relevant to each person’s lived experience.
A key focus of Aligned Roots is supporting South Asian adolescents. I acknowledge the unique cultural pressures and stigma that can create barriers to seeking help. Drawing on both professional training and lived understanding, I am committed to offering a culturally sensitive space where young people can explore their experiences, build resilience, and feel supported without judgement.
